A graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science, David G. McDonald is the president and COO of the internationally known meat product processing, packaging and distribution company the OSI Group, LLC. He has held the position since 1987. He is also the North American Institute of Meat’s chairman. McDonald was also OSI Industries’ project manager.
Since 2008, when Marfrig Frigoríficos e Comércio de Alimentos acquired the European and Brazilian operations of the OSI Group, McDonald has served as a Marfrig Global Foods S.A. independent director. A member of the board of directors of the OSI Group, McDonald is the director of Australia based OSI International Foods Pty Limited. Under David McDonald’s leadership and guidance, this once small, Chicago-area meat market has grown to become a multimillion dollar corporation with over 55 plants in 17 countries.
